Who Is This For?

This blade is specifically designed to meet the demands of various sword enthusiasts. It is highly recommended for:

  • Martial Arts Practitioners: Those looking for a well-balanced, battle-ready katana for Iaido, Kenjutsu, or Tameshigiri (test cutting) practice.
  • Serious Collectors: Sword enthusiasts searching for an authentic, clay-tempered blade with a real hamon under $300.
  • Home Decor & Display: Individuals wanting a premium, historically accurate Japanese sword to serve as a stunning centerpiece for a Zen room, dojo, or executive office.
  • Heritage Gift Seekers: Anyone looking for a unique, high-quality, handcrafted gift for a history buff or weapons collector.

T10 Carbon Steel Blade

The blade is crafted from premium T10 high-carbon tool steel, known for its exceptional hardness and edge retention. It is meticulously finished according to our workshop’s traditional production process, ensuring a blade that is both beautiful and highly resilient.

Clay Tempered & Distinctive Hamon

This sword undergoes a traditional clay tempering process to create specialized heat-treatment characteristics. By applying clay to the spine before quenching, the edge cools faster than the back, resulting in a hard, razor-sharp edge and a tough, shock-absorbing spine. This process naturally produces the distinctive, visible Hamon (temper line). Natural differences between blades are a celebrated part of the character of handmade production.

Full Tang Construction

Safety and functionality are our priorities. The tang extends completely through the handle (tsuka), ensuring the structural integrity necessary for martial arts practice and test cutting (tameshigiri).

Traditional Koshirae (Mountings) with Gold & Silver Plated Tsuba

The mountings on this sword truly set it apart. The Tsuba (guard) features an exquisite gold and silver plated (gilded) design, adding a touch of luxurious elegance typically reserved for high-end custom pieces. The Tsuka (handle) features genuine rayskin (samegawa) to provide a traditional-inspired texture, tightly wrapped with tsuka-ito. It is paired with an individually assembled, hand-finished Saya (scabbard) designed to perfectly complement the blade.
